Our main platform for communication is the school app. We have a procedure in place to ensure all communication across the school is shared on the school app in the first instance. Staff can then share the same information by other methods such as home newsletters, displaying on classroom windows or on social media.
What is on the website?
The website is used as an online handbook providing new and current families and visitors with information on the school and wider community. You will also find all covid19 guidance on our school website. During session 2020/21 we will refresh the content on our school website.
What is shared on the app?
81% of families prefer the school app therefore from 2018 the app became the main source for updates, events and newsletters. The message system replaced previous texts from school, the diary lists upcoming events and the news section replaces what was previously shared on the blog section of the school website including newsletters.
From March 2020 we have introduced Teams as a platform for home learning. Teams will continue to be used across all stages to support home learning. Burnbrae complex needs provision currently use SeeSaw for home learning. The Nursery made use of Padlet throughout lockdown and will review this later in the year.
What about other methods of communication?
Twitter is also used further share information on the app and to collaborate with others. The main school feeds are @burnbraeps or @burnbraeearly. We will review the use of individual class accounts this year.
The Facebook page continues to provide links to help at home and links to other groups in our community including Burnbrae Parent Council.
If you are unable to access the app, please let the office team know and they can organise paper copies to be sent home.
